Salsa & Xanadu

Yup salsa and Xanadu. This morning I was thinking, “salsa excites me.” I’m sure that revelation is triggered by the fact that my garden is in full tomato producing mode and I’ve been making lots of fresh salsa. And within the very same thought frame, Xanadu popped up. Roller skating disco-ed out visions of Olivia. Electric! I can’t really explain their connection … except love and obsession perhaps! Now that I’ve got you thinking about it, here’s a kickass Xanadu video and a yummy salsa recipe.  

Funky Love for Jimmy Edgars

Weird Lynchian-esque film, he’s got that … with a flip phone cameo.   Music that’s electro-funky with r&b vibes. Yeah it’s raunchy sometimes and shitloads of good.

Have really been all about his new album Majenta. This dude’s got my number.

So simple, organic, and spontaneous. I love this video.  LP’s new release Into the Wild is a dreamy pop listen. Beautifully powerful voice, mad ukulele skillz.

Getting Back to Getting Back

My posting skills have been well, sparse. I’m sure it happens to other bloggers. A distraction leads to a lapse leads to questioning leads to … falling off the face of the blog world. I just felt like the blog was getting away from what it is supposed to be. It is, a place for the music of my life and my life connected to Modplexi. I became burdened with this feeling of having to constantly put new music out there and on some level, keep up with other music blogs. Focus shifted, I hope to get back on the path of music as it exists in life: life as creative is a mix of old/new/discovered/rediscovered.
